Title: SoftPro Books Venue
Date: Wednesday, May 12th at 7:00 p.m.
Location: SoftPro Bookstore in Centennial (Map)
Cost:
Synopsis:
The discussion ran slightly longer than the hour scheduled, due to active discussions from attendees.
A large local firm is considering outsourcing its IT functions, generating concerns within the department. After
identifying specific areas where outsourcing could be valuable to the company, and how the attendees could retain
their employment through their extensive value-add, fears were allayed. The participants left the discussion with
sound solutions to propose to their management.
Jim Treitman, Softpro Books proprietor, commented, "After listening to your discussion, I can see how
companies of all sizes can benefit from understanding what it means to take a firm virtual. Outsourcing is only
one point of the virtual business paradigm. Both employers and employees need to understand that outsourcing
should not be viewed as an all-or-nothing proposition."
We would like to thank Jim and Softpro Books for providing the venue for this discussion.
